Vellore Nursing Entrance Exam
M.Sc Nursing (2 years): Medical Surgical Nursing (10), Paediatric Nursing (05), Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing (05), Community Health Nursing (05), Psychiatric Nursing (04)
M.Sc Degree in Nursing: B.Sc (Nursing)/B.Sc Honors./Post Basic B.Sc Nursing of the Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University Chennai or any other university accepted as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. (Candidates with PBBSc degree from IGNOU or any other Universities through distance education are not eligible).
Must possess permanent registration certificate from the State Nursing Council for Nursing and Midwifery/alternate course (applicable to male candidates)
The male candidates who do not possess midwifery registration certificate are not eligible to apply for M.Sc (N) in Obstetrics and Gynaecological/Community Health Nursing irrespective of their experience in the area.
Minimum one year of work experience from the date of registration as Nurse and Midwife after B.Sc Nursing (OR) after or prior to Post Basic B.Sc Nursing programme as on 15th April 2014 in any institution/hospital or as a full time Public Health Nurse.Medically fit

Selection Process:
Candidates who have applied for M.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, Fellowships in Nursing and Post Basic Diploma programmes in Nursing will appear for step-1 Computer Based Test (CBT) online test
The short listed candidates called for step-2 Selection process (Medical Checkup and Assessment of Skills and Knowledge/personal interview) will be published in the website and intimated individually by post by the 2nd week of January 2014
Hall Tickets:
The hall ticket will be available at the college website http://admissions.cmcvellore.ac.in after 10th Jan 2014
Use the application number as ID and date of birth as password to download and print your hall ticket
Check for accuracy of details. Only one Hall Ticket will be generated per candidate even if the candidate is registered for more than one course. In case of non- availability of the hall ticket one week prior to the date of the written test, candidates must contact the Registrar, College of Nursing, by fax, email or telephone. Please keep your application number handy when you call. A duplicate hall ticket or the hall ticket number and address of the centre will be intimated.
Entrance Exam:
All eligible candidates are required to undertake a computer based test (multiple choice questions) on 24th January 2014
The examination will be conducted in the following cities: Bengaluru, Calicut, Chennai, Delhi (NCR), Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kottayam, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Puducherry, Salem, Trivandrum, Vellore and Vijayawada
The candidates are expected to report 45 minutes before the examination at the centre with the hall ticket
The examination will be conducted in English
Application Process
Application forms can be accessed only online through the Christian Medical College website http://www.admissions.cmcvellore.ac.in from 04th Nov 2013
Duly filled application forms must be submitted online with basic administrative fee and registration fee for each specialty for the course applied before 12 midnight on 16th Dec 2013
It can be obtained either by hand or post by sending the prescribed fee as crossed demand draft drawn in favour of CMC Vellore Association payable at State Bank of India, Vellore town branch
Fee: M.Sc Degree in Nursing Rs. 850/- ($ 100) (application fee), Rs 650/- ($ 100) (registration fee); Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Rs 850/- ($ 100) (application fee), Rs 550/- ($ 75) (registration fee); Fellowships in Nursing Rs 850/- ($ 100) (application fee), Rs 550/- ($ 70) (registration fee); Post Basic Diploma Programmes in Nursing Rs 400/- ($ 60) (application fee), Rs 350/- ($ 60) (registration fee)

Candidates may apply up to a maximum of 2 specialties in M.Sc Nursing & Fellowships in Nursing and specialties in Post Basic Diploma Programmes in Nursing
Candidates must mention the ORDER OF PREFERENCE for admission into the courses in the application form, when applying for more than one specialty
Candidates must scan and keep a soft copy of your photograph and signature ready before filling the application form. Specification for photograph: Recent colour passport size photograph taken after 1st February this year, light background, JPEG format not exceeding 200 KB (Width - 150 pixels & Height – 150 pixels). Specification for signature: Scanned signature JPEG format not exceeding 50 KB (Width – 150 pixels & Height - 50 pixels)
Make your Payment by any one of the methods mentioned below
i. As a challan at no extra cost at any branch of ICICI bank in India, A challan will be generated when filling payment details in the application form. Please mention FC- CMC-V on the challan. (Send the original challan)
ii. Demand draft in favour of “C.M.C. Vellore Association a/c” on any Scheduled Bank, payable at the State Bank of India, Vellore Town, code 1618. Hand written demand drafts will not be accepted. Keep your demand draft ready before filling the application form. Write your name and application number on the back of the demand draft before dispatching
iii. Online payment using payment gateway (credit or debit card / net banking)
iv. Please note that the registration fee for each programme and for each specialty have to be paid along with the administrative fee
v. Candidates sponsored by International agencies like WHO, USAID and other foreign nationals inclusive of Indian nationals, residing/ working in foreign countries need to pay the Administrative Fee and Registration Fee mentioned in US Dollars or the equivalent in Indian currency
vi. Any form of fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
A printed copy of the completed application form with following relevant enclosures and Demand draft / proof of online payment / original ICICI challan should reach the Office of the Registrar College of Nursing, Christian Medical College, Vellore 632004” to reach on or before 21st Dec 2013
