Selection Process:

The selection process to the programmes will have a written test and a personal interview
Written Test: Eligible candidates will be required to take a National Entrance Test on 16th Feb 2014 (Sunday)

Application forms for the Masters Programmes are available online on the University website between December and February
Offline forms are made available on request. Students may choose to apply for both the programmes
Admission offer to a programme will be made based on student’s preference, subject to performance in the test and interview. In case, the student qualifies for both programmes, the University reserves the right to offer admission to only the programme of first preference

Post Graduate Courses Admission 2014

Admission to post graduate courses in Armed Forces Medical Colleges (AFMC), Pune or other Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) Training Institutions
Armed Forces Medical Services will admit candidates for the post graduate seats in various institutes for the session starting in 2014 on the basis of AIPGMEE 2014
Armed Forces Medical Services conduct Post Graduate training primarily for the doctors of Armed Forces Medical Services. Surplus seats, if any, are offered to sponsored candidates, ex-servicemen (Ex-SSC AMC officers), Civilian doctors
Aim and objectives
The courses are being conducted to fulfill the following requirements:

To meet the requirements of specialist cadre vacancies by training serving Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) officers

To meet the training requirements of foreign students sponsored by Govt of India

To offer PG courses to Medical Officers sponsored by Para Military / Govt of India organization

To maintain a reserve pool of specialist officers by offering PG courses to Ex-SSC officers who are on the reserve lists of AFMS

To maintain a provisional reserve pool of Specialist Medical officers by selecting and training civilian doctors who will have to execute a bond to serve in AFMS for a period of 05 years as Commissioned Officers on successful completion of the post graduate course

Eligibility Criteria

The following eligibility criteria shall be applicable:

Admission to the postgraduate medical courses at AFMS institutions, subject to the priorities laid down in the prospectus is open to graduates of medical colleges recognized by Medical Council of India and who have registered themselves as Registered Medical Practitioners with any State Medical Council recognized by MCI

Students who have completed/are completing internship by 31 Mar 2014 are eligible to apply however the Provisional registration certificate / Permanent Registration certificate should be available at the time of admission

The candidate must be a citizen of India

Foreign students sponsored by the Govt and approved by the DGAFMS should have passed their MBBS /equivalent examination (Authority: Govt of India, Ministry of Def letter No F/PC-8510/DGAFMS/DG1/345/2013/D/ (Med) dated 6th Mar 2013)

Age Criteria: Maximum permissible age for civilian candidates (Priority V Candidates) shall be 35 years as on 30 Apr 2014
Selection
The following method shall be adopted:
Entrance Exam: All candidates desirous of joining the AFMS institute will have to mandatorily appear in the AIPGMEE-2014 entrance examination prior to filling up of the online form of the AFMS institutions
The roll number/Testing ID (SRxxxxxxx) of the AIPGMEE - 2014 is an essential and mandatory requirement for further filling up of the online form

Merit List: A Merit list will be prepared as per the result /rank received from NBE as per the roll number provided by the candidate, priority wise
Names of candidates who have qualified in and their order of merit for the AIPGMEE-2014 examination will be displayed on the website of the DGAFMS and also will be intimated in their login ID
Candidates are advised to follow the notice board on the website regularly for updates

Note: Merit of candidates who have NOT provided correct Testing ID/ Roll numbers will NOT be declared and no correspondence in this regard shall be entertained from any candidate at any point of time
There is NO provision of correction of the roll numbers once it is entered into the application form and the application is submitted

Admission Procedure

Admission to PG courses AFMS institution is provisional subject to confirmation/ratification by the Office of DGAFMS & University concerned. The selected candidates are required to submit additional documents/certificates as per specific requirement of the institute/university. Candidates should ascertain these details from the Dean Academics of the Institute

Decision of Commandant of the college regarding admission of candidates shall be final and binding
All candidates are advised to preserve their Admit Cards of the AIPGMEE-2014 exam and the AFMS Candidate ID issued till allotment of the seats and admission to the institution

Medical exam of civilian (Priority V) candidates: This is a mandatory requirement for all civilian (Priority V) candidates. The medical standards required for civilian candidates are those applicable for selection as commissioned officers in Armed Forces Medical Services. Admission to PG courses shall only be given to those civilian doctors who are found medically fit for commission by a designated Medical Board

The candidates who are found medically unfit by the Medical Board will not be admitted into the college even if he may have been allotted a subject during the online counseling and called to the AFMS institution for admission procedures. There is no provision of appeal /review for any candidate who has been found to be medically unfit

VITEEE 2014 Exam Dates

The exam will be a Computer Based test and the Testing window is from 9th to 20th April 2014.
Candidates can apply Online as well as offline at www.vit.ac.in. If you apply online, the examination fees is Rs. 925/- . The Applications Forms can also be obtained Offline by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 975/-
  • The DD should be sent in favour of “VIT University” payable at Vellore addressed to the Director – UG Admissions along with a request letter comprising the complete address of the applicant.
  • The Application Forms can also be collected from the designated branches of Post Offices with the cash payment mentioned above. (The list is available on the website.) Or,

VITEEE 2014 Last Dates

Please Note: The last date of receipt of applications forms is 28th February 2014.
Eligibility:

  • The applicant should be a Resident or a Non-Resident Indian National.
  • The applicants who wish to appear for the VITEEE should have either completed or should be appearing for the following qualifying examinations in 2014:
    • The final exam of the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination conducted by The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi) , the State Board and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi).
    • Two-year or Intermediate Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board.
    • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
    • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
    • Candidates appearing for VITEEE 2014 should have obtained an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).

Eligibility for MD / MS / Diploma:
Candidates who have qualified for the M.B.B.S Degree of the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University or any other University recognized as equivalent by the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University and the Indian Medical Council and have completed their compulsory rotating residential internship and obtained full registration before 15/05/2014 are eligible to apply for the postgraduate diploma and degree courses.
Candidates who are in the 2nd year of their training for a postgraduate diploma course may also apply for the postgraduate degree (MS/MD) course in the same subject. Post Diploma candidates with a diploma in the same subject need to undergo 2 years of training for the degree.

Note: Those who complete a DCP will not have this benefit for MD Pathology.
Candidates currently pursuing a postgraduate training programme and who complete the same by the 15th of May 2014 only will be eligible to apply.
Selection Process:
The selection of candidates for Postgraduate courses will be according to the directives of the CMC Vellore Council. Fifty percent of seats in each course are reserved for sponsored candidates, provided they fulfill other criteria for eligibility for admission.

However, more than 50% of the available seats may be allotted to sponsored candidates based on their ranking in the step -2.

The wait list is based on ranking in the selection process. The first sponsored candidate on the waiting list will ordinarily fill vacancies arising by sponsored candidates not accepting a seat to make up 50% reservation for sponsored candidates.

In the event that more than 50% of the seats in any course are filled by sponsored candidates and one of the sponsored candidates does not accept the seat, it will be offered to the next candidate on the wait list by rank irrespective of whether he or she is sponsored or open.

No admissions will usually be made after 25th May 2014.
How to Apply:

Application forms can be accessed only online through the the Christian Medical College website http://www.admissions.cmcvellore.ac.in from 1st Oct 2013.
Duly filled application forms must be submitted online with a basic administrative fee of Rs.750/- and a registration fee of Rs. 600 per each course before 12 midnight on 8th Nov 2013.

Selection Process:

Candidates who have applied for M.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, Fellowships in Nursing and Post Basic Diploma programmes in Nursing will appear for step-1 Computer Based Test (CBT) online test
The short listed candidates called for step-2 Selection process (Medical Checkup and Assessment of Skills and Knowledge/personal interview) will be published in the website and intimated individually by post by the 2nd week of January 2014

Hall Tickets:
The hall ticket will be available at the college website http://admissions.cmcvellore.ac.in after 10th Jan 2014

Use the application number as ID and date of birth as password to download and print your hall ticket
Check for accuracy of details. Only one Hall Ticket will be generated per candidate even if the candidate is registered for more than one course. In case of non- availability of the hall ticket one week prior to the date of the written test, candidates must contact the Registrar, College of Nursing, by fax, email or telephone. Please keep your application number handy when you call. A duplicate hall ticket or the hall ticket number and address of the centre will be intimated.

Entrance Exam:

All eligible candidates are required to undertake a computer based test (multiple choice questions) on 24th January 2014

The examination will be conducted in the following cities: Bengaluru, Calicut, Chennai, Delhi (NCR), Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kottayam, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Puducherry, Salem, Trivandrum, Vellore and Vijayawada

The candidates are expected to report 45 minutes before the examination at the centre with the hall ticket

The examination will be conducted in English

i. As a challan at no extra cost at any branch of ICICI bank in India, A challan will be generated when filling payment details in the application form. Please mention FC- CMC-V on the challan. (Send the original challan)

ii. Demand draft in favour of “C.M.C. Vellore Association a/c” on any Scheduled Bank, payable at the State Bank of India, Vellore Town, code 1618. Hand written demand drafts will not be accepted. iv. Please note that the registration fee for each programme and for each specialty have to be paid along with the administrative fee

Selection Procedure

Applications will be scrutinized and suitability of candidates will be decided on the basis of their academic performance

The candidates meeting the requisite qualifications would be called for WRITTEN TEST. For candidates under Category A&B Percentage of marks of each previous semester/year of the qualifying degree will be used to decide the cut-off. Hence, candidates are advised to attach copies of all necessary mark sheets along with calculation showing the average marks scored.
Suitable candidates under the above said categories A& B will be selected based on written test and interview

It is proposed to conduct the written test at Chennai, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad, subject to sufficient number of candidates opting for a Centre
Exemption form Written Test: Suitable candidates satisfying any of the following will be exempted from the written test and will be called directly for the selection interview
Candidates with valid UGC-CSIR-NET Fellowship
Candidates with JEST-2013 score of 90 percentile and above
Candidates with M.E./M.Tech degree with aggregate marks of 60% or higher and a GATE score higher than 90 percentile

Fellowship and Tenure:
The selected candidates will be initially taken as Junior Research Fellows (JRF) and will be paid a stipend of Rs.16,000/- per month (consolidated)

The fellowship will be provided initially for a period of two years. Continuation of the fellowship is subject to satisfactory performance and review at the end of each year. On satisfactory performance, the tenure of Fellowship will be further extended and upgraded to Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) from the third year onwards with a stipend of Rs.18,000/- per month (consolidated)

The total period of the fellowship shall in no case exceed five years. They are entitled for contingency grant including book allowance of Rs.20,000/- per year

Eligibility: Candidates must have a Post Graduate Degree/Diploma or its equivalent, recognized by an Indian University or Association of Indian Universities with minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PD) in aggregate in the field of Science/Engineering/Management and related Social Sciences (as decided by equivalence committee of the Institute)
